Spice & Wolf Season 1 Box Set

Going to help out my good friends over at FUNimation.  They've been promoting the new Season 1 Box Set of Spice & Wolf and I thought it would be good to promo it some more (since I do have a very small ownership in the comapny ^^;;) plus I'm very interested in this series as well.  I've heard great things about it.

Here's the official synopsis of series via ANN:

"Centuries ago, the great wolf Holo journeyed south from her northern birthplace and became the goddess of the wheat harvest after striking a bargain with a young man in the village of Pasloe. For ages she insured rich harvests in most years and traditions built up around her, but as time passed and a new local noble developed more advanced farming techniques, lonely Holo came to feel that her commitment was no longer needed. Taking human form as a teenage girl with wolf ears and tail, she hooks up with Lawrence, a traveling merchant who regularly does business in Pasloe, and convinces him to allow her to accompany him on a journey as much about companionship for both as it is about providing a convenient means for her to return north. Along the way she helps the enterprising Lawrence as he gets involved first in a complex (and ultimately dangerous) scheme involving currency devaluation and later when, after getting caught by surprise by price fluctuations, he must struggle to find a way to save his career, an effort which brings him into association with the shepherdess Nora – the one type of person Holo hates more than any other. When a spice-transporting merchant and a wolf come together, things are never dull."

As long as supplies last, I'll gladly special order the DVD set for anyone through my store over at Chuck's Anime ShrineHere's the product page through my main supplier for pricing and such.

For those who have seen it, place a review or comments on it below...and try to keep the spoilers out ^^;;

BLEACH the Movie 2: The DiamondDust Rebellion

As some of you may know, this Saturday (December 5th) on Adult Swim will be the TV primer of BLEACH the Movie 2: The DiamondDust Rebellion. Last week was the airing of the first movie and to be honest, was the first time I got to see it. There's no denying it, the crazy fandom of Bleach is very much appropriate as the movie was beautiful and the story was such that it felt profound and tragic like the anime flicks of the 90's.

The second movie is as far in the main Bleach story as the current Adult Swims are with the whole Arrancar arch. To summarize, a powerful artifact known as the "King's Seal" is stolen from the Soul Society by an unidentified Soul Reaper and two Arrancar girls who control fire and lightning. There is much more that any read through Wikipedia might ruin for you so if you haven't seen the movie, check it out when it goes on the air.

On a side note; Bleach is all we anime fans have to hold on to in the Adult Swim line-up really. It's sadly the only anime giving Adult Swim enough viewers to see it as an asset so in support of the anime industry, please watch this and continue to make the people who run Adult Swim realize that anime is what they need to put back on. Anime is what started the whole block of programming in the first place -_- I better talk to the guy who got me into anime in the first place (Tiago)...he works at Adult Swim actually; so he got some explaining to do.

Romeo X Juliet Music

Got to sit down and watch the amazing Romeo X Juliet anime in the last few days. I know, I'm a bit late, the series came out in 2007, but hey, been busy -_-. I'll make minor (spoiler-less) review of it on Chuck's Anime Shrine, but for here on anime.fm, let's talk about the music of Romeo X Juliet...

Throughout the series, in the opening and embedded in almost all the background music is the popular song "You Raise Me Up" called "Inori~You Raise Me Up" beautifully done in both Japanese and English by Lena Park. Also heard in the ending sequence is the song "Cyclone" by 12012. "Cyclone" is in half of the series's ending and though a J-Rock song that's the complete opposite of the "You Raise Me Up", it fits well with the feelings of anger and unquenchable justice that the series partakes.

I've added the songs to the bottom of the anime playlist (found at the bottom) as well as the opening and ending clips via Youtube are here as well. I'd stock the soundtrack in my store for all you to purchase but sadly it's out of production -_-

Be sure to support Romeo X Juliet, their animators Gonzo and their music artists by purchasing the anime and music.

The Format of Anime.fm

After some tweaking of my site's code we now have a blogger blog integrated right into the main page! This blog shall be used for news from the otaku music sphere and to give everyone an update on the newest songs added to the playlists.
The format of Anime.fm is to have everything streaming at your fingertips so you can get it all on one page and to not interrupt the music.
The amv part of the site as of this post is just my music videos on youtube but I will integrate more and make the video section much better in future updates. Stay tuned for more updates.
